Bill 30 Part V - Reporting Incidents
Onsite Safety Management Inc.
Employers are required to report serious incidents, injuries, and fatalities to the government so that investigations can be done in order to qualify any wrong as a crime the should be. This investigation seeks to stop this incident from happening in the future. Employers are now also required to report near misses.
While these investigations are important to the development of safety practices they can be lengthy and it’s much better for all of us to practice prevention. In my experience it is in the hands of the workers to take reports seriously. If enough workers take safety seriously it will force the company to take it seriously.
