An Economic Hub For Alberta

In 2017, Lethbridge was one of the fastest growing economies in Alberta. There was a boom in industry and growth that we continue to see today. The loyalty and pride of  Lethbridge residents is staggering. We truly value the community we live in.

Construction and skilled trades flourish in Lethbridge. Not only does this industry support permanent Lethbridge residents but it acts as a hub for the surrounding areas and many oil and gas, forestry and mining operations in Southern and Northern Alberta.

There is a long list of projects in the works within the city which will continue to support workers and create new jobs for skilled trades along with other industries.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Biosolids Treatment Upgrades

Active
Description

The two existing Wastewater Treatment Plant digesters were constructed in 1987. A third digester was previously believed to be required to allow periodic maintenance. Implementation of new technology will allow more efficient use of the existing digester capacity and eliminate the need for a third digester.

This project will implement additional biosolids dewatering equipment and upgrade existing biosolids digester process control.
Funding
Borrowing-Utilities - $2,000,000

Whoop-Up Drive Interchange Improvements Functional Planning Study and Concept Design

With traffic growth on the Whoop-Up Drive, it is expected that major capacity issues will arise on the two interchanges at the east and west ends of the river crossing.
